Why we celebrate Diwali in India:
- Homecoming of Lord Rama: Diwali is the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana, the King of Lanka, and completing his 14 years of exile, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana. The day when Lord Ram entered Ayodhya was the new moon day of Kartik(Acc. Hindu Calendar). The People of Ayodhya welcomed Lord Ram by lighting diyas(clay lamps) and lamps.
- Hindu New Year: Hindu community all over the world also celebrate this day as New Year(According to Hindu Calendar) and worship Laxmi(goddess of wealth), Ganesha(god of prosperity) and Saraswati(goddess of knowledge).
- Last Harvest Season: Diwali usually falls in the month of October and November which is also time to harvest the last crop of the year before winter season starts.
So we Akshi Yogashala family invites you all to celebrate this one of the important festival of the country with us an unforgettable experience.
